Fireworks after Fireworks

 

Here’s a couple from the Freedom Fest’s Fourth of July fireworks display that was held at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. After making my 10:20pm deadline, I decided to make some photos of the gridlock that was the mass exodus following the fireworks. I wasn’t going anywhere in the foreseeable future anyway. I put my laptop in my car and made it to the top of the hill behind Nielsen Hall. I was just too far to made anything from there. So I took a walk.

 I noticed that someone was shooting fireworks from a house in a residential development near the south entrance along Kirkwood Blvd. I just hoped they wouldn’t run out before I trekked down there. I like the blue and red lights reflected in the car at right before it pulled away.
